| Flat Stanley at Meteor Crater. Did you know that Meteor Crater was formed 50,000 years ago when a meteorite approximately 162 feet across slammed into the high desert of Arizona? The crater itself has a diameter of 4,000 feet. This is possible thanks to the high speed at which the meteorite impacted the Earth as well as the meteorite's high density. |
