Flat Stanley visits the Grand Canyon!  The Colorado river began carving the Grand Canyon around 17 million years ago.  Today the canyon is 277 miles long and about one mile deep!

Flat Stanley at Meteor Crater.  Did you know that Meteor Crater was formed 50,000 years ago when a meteorite approximately 162 feet across slammed into the high desert of Arizona?  The crater itself has a diameter of 4,000 feet.  This is possible thanks to the high speed at which the meteorite impacted the Earth as well as the meteorite's high density.
